Minors
Prevent malnutrition in minors. Defend children's rights. Develop education for minors.
Ukraine
Currently, more than 100,000 Ukrainian children live in these institutions.
Ukraine is one of the largest countries in Eastern Europe, and also one of the poorest, where children are often the most affected by chronic poverty. Over the past decade, living standards have dropped dramatically, and many families – especially single-parent ones – live below the poverty line. Exposed to these harsh economic and social conditions, some mothers cannot endure any longer and abandon their children or hand them over to orphanages. Currently, more than 100,000 Ukrainian children live in these institutions.
Prevent malnutrition in minors
Worldwide, 170 million children fail to reach their full potential due to inadequate nutrition, in many cases due to poverty. Without the nutrients they need, they are more susceptible to any disease and are more likely to perform poorly in their education.
Therefore, the Dídac Sánchez Foundation will work with the greatest efforts to improve the diet and nutrients of minors.
Defend children's rights
Just because a child is a son or daughter does not mean their rights belong to their parents. Boys and girls are subjects of their own rights and no one, not even themselves, can make them renounce them.
As minors, children still have a long way to go to complete their development and maturity. This is what makes them especially vulnerable people who require special care and qualified protection. However, being minors does not mean being minors in rights. Especially relevant, for this reason, is their right to be heard and to participate in decisions that affect them, according to their maturity and development.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child was proclaimed and adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 20, 1989. It establishes the inalienable rights of all boys and girls, but also the obligations of States, public authorities, fathers, mothers and society as a whole, including children themselves, to guarantee respect for these rights and their enjoyment by all children without distinction of any kind.
It is the most widely supported international human rights treaty, 196 nations have ratified it. The United States is the only country that has not completed the ratification process of the Convention.

Develop education for minors
Early childhood care lays the foundation for human development and helps to equalize development opportunities for everyone from birth. Early Childhood, education and integrity. In the first years of life, timely and relevant care has high-impact effects for children. Various studies have shown that the interactions children establish with their mother, father, siblings, grandparents and other responsible adults have fundamental consequences for brain development. But these educational experiences must also involve other factors such as health, care and good nutrition, as essential complements to achieve adequate child development.
Therefore, the Dídac Sánchez Foundation will develop, together with other non-profit organizations, initiatives and educational materials that allow the continuous development of early childhood education.
